Local Celebrates 104th Birthday

Wow! Huntington Woman Celebrates

Her 104th Birthday

by Karolyn Klaes

Mind you, Ms. Faye Hill Stovall may not be quite as fast on her feet as she used to be when she was younger but at 104 years young, she is running circles around the younger generations at Huntington Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. From just looking at her you can tell that she still has a lot of living left to do and plans of enjoying every minute!

Faye Hill Stovall was born in Upsher County near Gilmer, Texas in June of 1914 and has resided in Huntington, Texas since the end of WWII, raising her family here. She is a born again Christen and she attended the First United Pentecostal Church in Huntington for over 50 years.

Raising her children to love God, family and to be responsible adults was her career. With an upbeat, positive attitude Ms. Stovall raised three boys and one girl; Rolwyn Thornton, who is deceased; Troy Thornton who lives in Houston; Gene Thornton, who is deceased; and Rita Chamblee who still lives in Huntington. There are also twelve wonderful grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great, great grand. What a family and what a legacy!

At 104 years Ms. Faye still as beautiful as ever, still has her remarkable sense of humor and loves God with all her heart. She loves her kids and grands more than anything and is very proud of what her family has become.

Happy Birthday Ms. Faye. You are a true treasure to your family, to this community, and to everyone you meet. Your happy, smiling face is a blessing to all. May you have a wonderful birthday celebration and keep doing whatever you are doing. You are a real inspiration. God Bless You!
